Origin Scholars School Bylaws

Preamble
Origin Scholars School is committed to academic excellence and spiritual formation through a classical educational model. We integrate artificial intelligence to enhance learning while upholding Christian moral values. These bylaws establish the legal and operational framework for governance, curriculum, personnel, and compliance.

Article I: Governance
The school shall be governed by a Board of Directors responsible for policymaking, strategic oversight, and fiduciary duties. Board members may be compensated as follows: Independent contractors may receive a salary; school employees serving as board members are considered paid volunteers and shall receive a set stipend and $100 per board meeting attended.


Article II: Accreditation
Origin Scholars School shall seek accreditation through Serving and Accrediting Independent Schools (SAIS) or other approved accrediting bodies recognized by the Oklahoma State Board of Education.


Article III: Curriculum
The curriculum shall follow a classical model emphasizing grammar, logic, and rhetoric stages. Instruction shall include core subjects—English, mathematics, science, history—and integrate artificial intelligence tools to support personalized learning. Christian moral values shall be embedded throughout all grade levels, Preschool 2 through 12th grade.


Article IV: Personnel
All teaching staff must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree. Accredited faculty must meet Oklahoma certification standards. A full-time principal or headmaster shall be employed. Personnel policies shall reflect the school's mission and Christian values.


Article V: Compliance with Oklahoma Law
The school shall comply with all applicable Oklahoma statutes including health and safety regulations, civil rights protections, and recordkeeping requirements. Immunization records, attendance logs, and student confidentiality shall be maintained in accordance with state law.


Article VI: Amendments
These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the Board of Directors, provided the proposed changes are submitted in writing at least 30 days prior to the vote.
